Hi, my name is Phoebe, I’m 3 years old and I’m extremely loving and want to be loved on too. I give sweet kisses for belly rubs, and will follow you wherever you go. I’m very calm and relaxed, I’m a good girl, never destructive in the house and I’m house broken. I love treats and will sit for them. I will surf the counters if given the chance and if you leave your plate down I might sneak a bite, but really I just want to share. J I love water and love to play in the hose or go swimming. I need some training, like learning to walk nicely on a leash, but I’m coming along just fine. I am submissive and get along well with other dogs and even like cats; it’s nice to have friends. I may come across as a little shy at first, but that’s because I don’t see very well. I’m afraid of the dark and must have a night-light. My foster mom is going to take me to an eye doctor to see what’s going on and if there is anything that can be done; but I may be losing my site to PRA. I’ll be just fine though as long as there’s a friendly hand or buddy to help guide me along my way. Do you have a friendly dog that wouldn’t mind me tagging along?

I’m Petunia and I’m just a year old and boy do I love to play!! My foster mom says I’m a ball of energy!! I love balls and toys; I’m very athletic, strong and fast. Like a “bull in a china shop” my foster mom says. I love people and want to be loved so badly. I like getting on the furniture and sleeping in your bed, I can be a snuggle bug if you let me. I’m not destructive or anything in the house and I know to potty outside. I love to play in the water and try to get the hose from you, it’s just sooooooo much fun!! I’m a good eater and will sit for treats and I’m never aggressive with food. I do need some training, and need to learn to walk on a leash; but I do all right. This is the first time I’ve been away from my mom, so I’m a little nervous and right now new dogs scare me so I try to act tough. With some guidance and experience I’ll be ok. Walks, training, exercise and love, will all help relieve the tension; this is all so new to me. I just need some time. Do you have time for me? Can you show me my world is safe? I will be your best girl, I promise.

Adoption Pending

Hi! My name is Shakespeare and I came into rescue on May 19, 2006. We did not know much about me at first, because I was found at a shelter in Harris County, TX, but my Foster Family and I have learned a lot about me since we found each other! Here is my story:

My Aunt Alana named me Shakespeare because of my sweet, soulful personality, but my Foster Mom calls me “Shakes” for short because when she shakes her head at me, I shake my head back at her and it makes everyone laugh. My Foster Mom thinks I was probably left outside most of the time because I was not housebroken at all and I like to roll in the mud (a lot ), but we do know I am really smart and a fast learner because I am housebroken already and have learned lots of new commands just in the last few weeks. Basically, I am pretty much just a big cuddly goofball who likes to make everyone laugh.

I am currently living in New Orleans, LA with my Foster Mom, my Aunt Monique, my little bother, Apollo, (a big English Mastiff like me) and my little sister, Godiva, (an inside cat). I didn’t even know there was such a thing!) It took me a little while to get used to her, but I understand she is family and since I am too big for her to play with, she pretty much just ignores me. I do get to play with my little brother a lot though, which I love, but I don’t really love to share my toys, and I need to be the center of attention, so I may be best in a home by myself or with a submissive female. I also really, really love people. I have met lots of them lately and they all love me too. I have not met any kids though, but I understand they are just really short people, so I am sure they will be lots of fun too. But since I haven’t met any yet, I may be best in a home with children over 6.

When I came into rescue, I also had some different health problems, like fleas, heartworms and an ear infection, but they got me started on treatment right away and I have been working really hard to get well because my Foster Mom says when I am all better I can go to my Forever Home. I will be finished all my treatments in a couple more weeks and then I will be ready for adoption. I am really adorable (you can tell from my photos ) and I am sooo… very lovable. The vet thinks I am about 5 years old, but I am still a puppy at heart and what I want more than anything is to take nice long walks, run around in a big backyard (fenced, of course ) and spend all my time with my new family. Are you my forever home?

Lola

Lola was just 15 minutes from her death sentence when the wonderful folks with Great Dane rescue pulled her from the pound, even before knowing for sure if FORM was able to take her!!  Lola is very young (I am estimating easily less than 18 months) and is a very stout little girl! She LOVES to play with my foster pitbull puppy and loves to get petted! She has the most adorable face and oh those wrinkles! We (her and I) are currently working on housebreaking and she hasn't had an accident in over a week! I think we are making great strides! She thinks it is great getting treats! She does need obedience training but at such a young age, she will make someone a great companion once you work her past her rambunciousness! She is one of those eternally happy dogs! She always wears "happy ears" and a smile! The photos of her are taken a day after she was spayed so she doesn't look so happy then but trust me when I say she hasn't stopped smiling since then!!  Her cute yellow furry fanny reminds me of buttered rolls so her "nickname" is butter-buns! But, she responds to anything as long as you have a treat in your hand! I do not know how she is with cats. She likes children but because of her proven "puppyhood" she should not be in a home with small children only because she could unintentionally mow them over like bowling pins. But, I am sure she would be sorry about it and run over and kiss them until they forgave her! :-) She loves carrying around stuffed animals and I am convinced she has a sense of humor! She just makes me laugh!!! Though she is not the largest mastiff you will come across, she is a great dog and deserves a great home!

Hi! My name is Zeus. I just turned 5 so I can't wait to find my forever family. I came to stay at my foster mom and dad's house after my old family decided they didn't want me anymore. After they moved to their new house, they decided not to let me inside so I had to stay outside for 3 whole years. I'm so glad that my foster mom and dad let me stay inside with the air-conditioning. Its really hot in here in Texas! Right now, I live in Fort Worth with my foster mom and dad and their two dogs that I get along great with. My old mom said that I don't like cats but do great with kids. Since I lived inside for a while, I was already potty trained and haven't had any accidents in the house. I don't like crates and I will try just about anything to get out of there. That's ok though because do great left alone in the house. I love people and love attention. I love to rest my huge head in your lap for scratches. I even know a few commands (sit, shake, lay down). I've been neutered and I'm heartworm negative so I'm ready to go!

Tiger Lily, a 3-4 year old sweet, quiet female, around 115 pounds now, who is being fostered in Louisiana. Tiger Lily will be receiving treatment for the heartworms, she is blind in one eye due to glaucoma and the eye will be removed once she is healthy. Tiger Lily has a bacterial infection in skin and there should be no long term effects from this. It is not demodex, and is responding well to antibiotic treatment. Tiger Lily will be looking for her forever home who will be able to deal with the special needs of a one eyed Mastiff sometime in November or December of 2006 after she is spayed, up to date on shots and heartworm negative. As far as we know now, she is good with other dogs, but cats are an unknown. Due to the fact that she is blind in one eye, we recommend no children under the age of 15 in the home.

Hi I'm Brandi and my foster mom calls me Dandi Brandi cause she says I'm a Dandy of a girl! If I get left outside longer than I want to be outside, I just scale the chain link fence and come a knocking on her door! I'm about 3 years old and will be spayed soon. I also have some of those nasty creatures called heartworms, but my foster mom says as soon as I get just a tad healthier weight wise, I'm going to be treated and get rid of those nasty critters! Then I'll be searching for my new forever home! I am being fostered south of the DFW area.

Hi, my name is Kayla. I’m a cute, young (2-3 years old), fawn girl. I was picked up as a stray by animal control. I wish I could tell my foster mom about my life before I came to her but, she doesn’t seem to speak dog fluently. She looks worried because my bones stick out and I have worms in my heart. I’m really beginning to enjoy my new surroundings. My favorite part of my foster family is their three dogs. I really like their female miniature dachshund. Their Labrador is a little nosy for my liking but, he’s not too bad. Even though I like other dogs, I don’t care for cats. My least favorite part of my foster family is their little person (8 year old boy). He’s really nice to me but, for some reason when I see or hear him, it scares me. Right now I’m hanging out. The doctor said I have to gain a lot of weight before I can have my heartworms treated. Then I have to be spayed. After I’ve had my “makeover”, I’ll be ready to go to a nice, quiet home.

Gwenivere came to rescue in September 2005 after being left outside a rural TX shelter. She weighed only 103 lbs and was very thin and unhealthy; she was one sad girl! Fortunately, with the love and care of the FORM rescue team, Gwenivere steadily put on about 30 lbs and is now a robust and strong, happy girl! We believe she is around 5-6 years of age. She is now spayed, current on all vaccinations and taking her monthly heartworm prevention. This sweet girl is looking for a best friend to love her and appreciate her for the fabulous kid that she is! Gwenny is tolerant of other dogs but she really prefers to be "The Boss." For this reason, we feel that she will do best in a home without any other dogs. She is extremely friendly with people and she loves making new friends! Gwenivere is mostly housetrained and she is very food motivated. She will follow you anywhere for a biscuit or two! She also loves to go on long walks in nice weather, and walks very well on leash. Gwenny is being fostered in Missouri.
